How to prepare for your teletherapy session
Do not engage in teletherapy while you are driving or participating in other activities needing your full attention. The session will be terminated if I determined that conditions are not safe.
Appointment location should be appropriate, safe, and private. Please limit background noises and make sure you have adequate lighting whenever possible.
Try to arrange a time when you are not caring for your children. However, if that is not possible, understand that caring for children may be disruptive to your treatment session, but we can deal with it the best we can.
Please ensure that you, your child, or other individuals that might be seen on camera are fully dressed and wearing proper attire for the appointment as if you were going into an office.
Check your internet connection, speakers or headphones, and video to ensure all is in working order. To best ensure privacy and confidentiality if there are other people in your home, you may want to use headphones with a microphone during the session.
To avoid technical difficulties, please make sure your computer has been restarted prior to the session, that your browser is up-to-date and regularly clear your cache.
To avoid interruptions, please put your device on Do Not Disturb mode or do not answer phone calls, texts or access the internet during the appointment. When you get notifications, it does sometimes disrupt the connection.
Login to the session a few minutes early to ensure you are ready to begin at the scheduled time.
